published order. the chronology view sucks.
actually, i admire the writing order best of all.
but it doesn't salvage The Last Battle into a tolerable work (given that i know the allegory its mapped to can i can't stand it).

and the article makes the allegory way the hell too small. the allegory is not "Aslan == Jesus". The allegory is "LWW == Gospel of John" and "Last Battle == Revelation" - its much bigger (deeper?) than just Aslan himeself.

allegory, shmallegory. it's still a great story all by itself!

Always, always, always in the Published order. The persons who created the "chronology" order have an appointment with a chipper-shredder. Head first.

published order. there are terms and plot points that don't make sense or have as much impact if you read them in chronological order.

Don't read them. Read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman instead. The Golden Compass is due to hit theaters in 2007.
