Easter Weekend
Mar. 28th, 2005 03:37 pmGood for me and the rugrat, NOT nearly as good for the hubby. Hubby had to work all weekend. He has currently worked like 15 days straight. We miss him very much and he's just getting a bit grouchy from the entire work torturing him thing. Hope this project is done soon, I want the happy hubby back!
Good Friday, my parents spent the day watching Baby M while we worked since daycare closes for the holiday. And the parents even brought a few pounds of shrimp to steam, and beer that we had for dinner. Yum!!
Saturday, Easter Eve morning, Baby M and I dyed eggs. Woo Hoo! She had a ball. I took tons of pictures that I need to upload and sort thru. Since she's only two we did solid colored eggs and stickers. She loved putting the stickers on the eggs.
Saturday afternoon, picked up hubby from work dropped off Baby M at MILs and went to our local (well 40 min. or so from MILs) colonial seamstress and ordered hubby up some new "blacksmith" garb for the forge. On the way back we stopped at a wonderful Japanese Steak House for an early dinner. Nice afternoon for all of us. Baby M got spoiled senseless by MIL and MIL's dh, stickers, and chocolate, and a new stuffed bunny that wiggles it tail. We picked her up, then we took hubby back to work - so he could slave away.
Since Dave worked all weekend the only two things I would have loved to do that we didn't get to was a good friend's baby shower, and Yurmo's Easter Eve tree lighting party. Haven't made it to the "Easter Eve" party the past two years, but it is always a wonderful Xmas tree burning bonfire evening. Very old German family tradition with lots of good bratwurst, sausage, frankfurters, and good german ale and beer. Oh well, maybe next year?
Sunday, Easter, hubby went in to work all day. But before he left for work he hid all her eggs (in plain sight) and she got to hunt Easter eggs while Daddy was still home.
Baby M and I went to visit FILs side of the family for Easter. So Baby M got all dressed up in her Easter dress, turned on the "adorable" and wowed the hearts of her great-grandparents, grandparents, Aunt, and cousins. She ran around like a little insane person all afternoon spoiled beyond compare. Then crashed hard once we got her in the car and slept all the way home.
And last night after we got home, she cuddled with mommy and watched a new "Pooh" DVD her granddad got her and then "Nemo" which she'd been begging to see.
