I know all about the DVDs compatability with British vs. American DVDs. You need a DVD player that will read all the different formats (which we currently have)...

But Music CDs? Can I give someone an American CD if they live in England and have it work for them?

so far it's worked for me

I have had no problems with music CDs. I uaually buy several each time I am in England cause the bands I listen to tend to put out special releases that can only be bought there. I have never not had one play in my car or home CD players.

99.99% of all cds work on all cd players

the only issue are those of "copy-protected" cds that aren't supposed to be rippable, but the way some of them do it means they won't play at all in a computer and sometimes don't play in older cd players and some dvd players.
