cool book that I found today
Nov. 10th, 2004 12:22 pmThey had a book sale at work today and I found: Lewis and Clark on the Trail of Discovery. The Journey That Shaped America by Rod Gragg
I know a history book - big deal. But this one is really neat 'cause on almost every page there are removable journal pages, maps and artifacts.
Reproduction copies of letters and journals that Lewis and Clark wrote, letters from Thomas Jefferson, etc., maps they drew of their travels, lists of supplies and rosters of men, etc. The reproduction letters, are on yellowed paper, with holes, tears, etc. that you can pull out and examine. They are tucked in pockets that look like journals and envelopes.
Traveling back in time with letters from 1804-1806 pretty neat...
