All you pirates and parents out there - got a question or two..
I'm on my class reunion committee. And we are having a picnic for the families the Sunday after our reunion dinner/dance. We'll I'm helping organize kids games and since our school mascot was a "Raider" as in a pirate here are the committees ideas so far:
Kids Games
1. Musical Chairs
2. Freeze dance
3. Three-legged race (tie legs together with Pirate bandannas)
4. Limbo
5. Water Balloon relay race (teams or 2 or 4 must hold bandannas with the water balloons on top)
and pirate stuff for favors:
3 dozen bandannas, 3 dozen bubbles, and a gross of eyepatches, temporary pirate tattoos, and treasure coins
and a Parrot Pinata filled with candy and pirate loot including jewels, necklaces, telescopes, etc.
I found them at http://www.deadmentellnotales.com/index.shtml
For the winners of the games we figured we'd get #1 medals for 1.79 a 4 pack.
Oh yea and balloons a plenty - blue and white (school colors)
Some of the other things they had at the party store that I didn't think were good ideas were pirate weapons - swords, daggers, guns - but I could just see the kids beating each other with them or poking an eye out and they were also much more costly $3 or more each. The pirate hats, and goblets were like $3 or more a piece...
Any other ideas that are inexpensive?
