In fact one house in our neighborhood that sold for $249,000 in 2000 just was listed for $419,000 a few weeks ago.... jeez...

Not 2000, but 2002. When we moved in, right?

Us too. We've got houses in our neighborhood that are now going for at least 30% more than they were when we bought our house just two and a half years ago... It's freaky.

However, this also means that we can shortly get a nice home equity deal and put new siding and a new roof on the house.

We were just looking at the housing prices last night... Damn scary, almost.

I'm just glad we bought when we did. There are townhouses in our area that are selling for more than we bought our house for now.
