MSFB 2011 Donation
Sep. 11th, 2011 05:37 amFinished my mosaic glass picture frame I'm donating to the Fantasy Ball.
So here's my "MSFB 2011 Steampunk 8x10 Picture Frame": (and a picture just doesn't do the 3-D details justice)

Date: 2011-10-02 06:11 pm (UTC)And about 1/2 the photos are pieces made by/with my daughter. She's eight(8) and has much more imagination than I do. I find that kids aren't afraid to just try about anything, and she always has the unusual ideas that I'd never try.
She loves doing mosaics but needs some help with cutting the glass. The pink pirate skull & crossbones, Christmas ornament, apple, pink & red picture frame, and her school (red/blue paw print) picture frame were her projects - I just helped her with cutting some of the glass tiles.
The MSFB Steampunk picture frame took the longest by far, and I really love it, and adding the feathers was the idea of one of the instructors that works at the mosaic studio near my home.
Since they also offer classes, there are always people in the studio when I go. And truthfully, I get so many wonderful ideas from the other people working on their projects.
I'm currently working on a second palm tree, and jointly working on a bird house (3-D), and a mermaid with my daughter. When those are completed I want to try more 3-D pieces as they are much more difficult and the studio has so many beautiful examples, as well as, some fountains the one instructor just completed.
