Did I mention we got our tax refunds deposited two weeks ago? Seems like we have already decided how it will all be spent plus a bit.

1. mostly paying off credit cards - the balances of all our vehicle repairs from a few months ago - two alternators, a distributor and a new engine for the truck
2. and we need tires for the car
3. and dh (darling husband) will be ordering his welder ASAP
4. and dd (darling daughter) and I got new sandals over the weekend - her first pair - my old pair was at least five years old basically disinigrating and she got a bunch of summer clothes already
5. and dd got the VHTF (Very Hard to Find) Fisher Price LIL Castle Kingdom and all the accessories ordered (which will be her bday/Xmas present)
6. and we got tickets ordered to the MS Fantasy Ball and we are still determining what "costumes" we will wear
7. and we have a evening at Medieval Times planned with a few friends
8. and we're ordering plane tickets to go to my cousin's wedding and on vacation
9. we actually have 4 weddings and a class reunion to attend over the next 4 months - so wedding prezzies and tickets to the reunion
10. and paint for the family room and sand/gravel/bricks for a patio and a few trees for the back yard
11. Oh yeah! and Fairever passes when they become available
and poof the money will all be gone....

The castle hasn't come in the mail yet, but we just got her replacement farm yesterday.

Her old one (which grandma got her for Xmas) broke, as in stopped playing music or making animal sounds. And I sent it back to Mattel (Fisher Price's parent company) and they are sending me a voucher for Mattel products.

Anyway I reordered her the same one and now she has a working barn again, and since we just sent the barn back she has twice as many animals - 2 horses, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, and even 2 farmer dudes.

And the new one came with a bonus video (with claymation type characters), and a bonus accessory set, a girl with a truck/trailer, bushel of apples and a dog.

So my little one was playing with everything last night and again this morning. For some reason her favorite so far is the dog.

The maiden mary and the lance-a-little sets I ordered from ebay came in the mail yesterday too - but after assembling the barn I didn't have time to unpack them yet.

It is gonna be so hard to save the "Castle" characters for Xmas/bday, but I figure I'll unpack them make sure they are okay and pack them away in the basement until then.

So I think now that I've gone berserk with Fisher Price Little People, her Xmas toy shopping is complete.

Scary thing is we still have some toys from last Xmas (that grandma gave her) that are in the basement until she is a little older. It is just a few things that aren't age appropriate yet - puzzles, legos, etc.

I also have a kitchen set I got at a yard sale (for $12) in the basement. We can probably set her up a play area in the basement for her kitchen set, and she is just about old enought to play with those things.

Don't play with her toys until I give them to her (ha ha ha).

Can't you see us now. After we put her to bed at night, we sneak down into the basement to play with her castle kingdom.

We will be using the catapult to shoot Little People at each other. We can try to storm the castle gate while having dragons swoop down upon us. Or the woodsman can shoot arrows at the knight. etc. etc. There is no end to our imagination. So it might just end up being our toys instead of hers (maniacial laughter in the background while mommy & daddy grab the little people and scream mine mine mine mine)

Well....

On the upside, you didn't have so much debt that the only thing it was used for was to reduce it....Plus, it sounds like you have many wonderful things planned...trees...silver birch?

We are in a new development so our back yard is mostly dirt, but dh has been doing a good job of trying to get grass to grow.

Thinking of an Oak in the one back corner, and a three pink dogwoods in the other.

Tell me more about the Silver Birch though - since we are not decided.
