dreamaastrid | the kid and the dog

I got the dog over the weekend (my puppy visitation). He's 12 now so getting (well has gotten) really slow, hard to stand, wobbly on linoleum, very very slow on any steps, etc. Hadn't had him for a visit in a few months. But the daughter and the dog got along fabulously over the weekend. Just one bark to put her in line when she was a little rough with him - she cried, then respected him and was gentle to the doggy the rest of the weekend. Even fed him a cheerio or two from her highchair and giggled when he took it from her.

By the time I drove him home, she was in her car seat in the back and he was sprawled across the back seat with his head in her lap most of the drive home. too cute!!

and I think she said "doggy" yesterday, not sure but that is what it sounded like...
