Life is too short

Went to our friend's viewing last night ....
been reflecting on a few things:
Life, Death - dead, dead, dead, dead, over, kaput
I've spent too much time the past few weeks listening to others, reading and thinking and such... Thinking about what people say. People who say or word things in such a way:
a) those that offend and rile others up
b) those that not thinking state things that offend and rile others up
c) those that don't realize they are offending others
d) those that don't care if what they say offends others
e) those that really don't mean to offend others but don't know how to word things otherwise
and then there is me - I listen, I read, I can't turn away - I spend too much time following these conversations and mulling it over
It is like watching a train wreck - then watching a train car catch on fire - then watching rescue workers try to put out the flames - then watching another car ignite - then watching the workers try to save people - then another train car explodes and more people die - even the rescue workers
I don't say anything - I just watch in horror - but I can't turn away - I keep watching - hoping - worrying - the fires die down - the bodies are strewn everywhere - the injured and dying are moaning in pain - some have escaped unscathed - some never entered the fray - some are weeping - some are happy - very strange to watch
Think I'm spending too much time watching - need to spend less time watching stuff that doesn't pertain to me - and more time with my life and things important to me
cause soon - maybe not tomorrow or next week or next year or next decade - but soon I'll be dead, dead, dead and people will ask what did she spend her life doing?
