Love them / Hate them
Feb. 17th, 2004 03:08 pmOkay we have demonic cats - that at least once a week decide to torture us so we can't sleep at say sometime between midnight or 2am (and yes last night was one of those nights). They come out from under the bed, and go and beat on the door (cat owners - you know the annoying door rattle) and you can't sleep through this.
We throw a pillow at them or try to catch them to beat them - before they dart back under the bed, trying to catch them a 1/2 dozen times until we're insane and 20 minutes or so has gone by. Then being totally fed up and now completely awake - you both get out of bed - and one of you chases the offending monster out from under the bed while one of you catches him - put his face to the door that he was beating on and impress upon him not to do that anymore.
Any way to solve this completely? - other than locking them in a crate at night when they do this - like in the basement or someplace we can't hear them.
Demon cats won't live long if they keep this up...

Date: 2004-02-17 01:37 pm (UTC)The only way water works, is picking them up, putting their head under the faucet and turning it on full blast. Hmmm - maybe a super soaker?
ornery little b##tards...

And if the zap pads work - maybe covering the house with them to inflict pain on the monsters. (sorry just imagining them writhing in pain (he he) - joking so NOT serious)
I just want good kitties. And when they are being snuggly they are good kitties.

Date: 2004-02-17 03:50 pm (UTC)Tinfoil has actually been said to deter cats before. I know it may not look good, but have you tried tinfoiling the bottom half of the door as a deterrent? Supposedly after a few weeks you can remove it and they won't go there anymore.
