tuesday - still precipitating
Jan. 27th, 2004 10:39 amCame home early from work last Wednesday, because the baby was throwing up at daycare.
Thursday spent the morning home with sick daughter. Hubby worked a 1/2 day and came home and took the afternoon shift with her so I could go into work for 5 hrs. He took her to the doctor and she again has an ear infection. Friday I again got the morning shift - only 103.5 degrees. Joy - what a happy child! Then I worked from home when my husband came home to watch her.
Then it snowed and we didn't leave the house all weekend. Followed the snow plow out of the neighborhood yesteday and made it in a 1/2 day, and my daughter was the only infant at daycare. Today - freezing rain and me and the rugrat are again home. Lets see 20hrs worked last week and 20hrs sick. This week so far a 1/2 day worked yesterday so I have to use a 1/2 day leave, and today hope to work from home at least a 1/2 day. Only January and the leave time is looking pretty beat up.
However, I did get my exciting brochure to pick out a "achievement award" from work for being there 3 years. So what will it be a watch? a coffee maker? an alarm clock? earrings? my big decision of the day...
What is happening to me? I've been cooped up in this house too long - this can't be exciting? can it? I just wanna go back to work and not be locked in this house anymore... Is that too much to ask?
But when we are home, projects around the house do finally get done. House is looking better everyday. The handpainted "dragon" crib is in final assembly. I'm washing the new bed linens for the little monkey as I type. I also started painting the "Victorian ceiling medallion" to go up in the living room, where the antique style ceiling fan will hang.
And the light fixture in the kitchen is finally up. Not sure if we like it as much as we thought we would though. Think we have two things to correct to be happy with it. 1. New bulbs - we absolutely hate the cool white, need to buy soft white bulbs for it, just way, way too white - yes that coming from us two of the whitest people I know. and 2. Location - the old ceiling fixture evidently was not centered, so when we hung the new one, it looks like it needs to move over 8 to 12 inches to look right, that means we get to get to move wiring in the ceiling - oh fun! - maybe next weekend - cough, sputter
House is really starting to look nice, but I want to be able to go outside with the little one. And I want us both to be non-sick. I've started getting yet another cold - scratchy throat, cough, cough...
hmmmmmm
